About Holistic Strategic Moves with Melanie Horstead

I thrive at the intersection of people, systems, and purpose.

Over the course of my career, I’ve lived and worked across four countries, experiencing first-hand the cultural, social, and structural differences that shape people’s lives. These experiences challenged me to adapt, persevere, and find creative solutions in unfamiliar environments, deepening my understanding of human resilience and the factors that support wellbeing and growth.

From 2015 to 2024, I founded and ran a small charity. That experience gave me hands-on expertise in supporting start-ups and social impact organisations—from designing robust systems to developing funding bids, partnership proposals, and growth strategies.

I’ve worked extensively in anti-human trafficking initiatives, designing and delivering trauma-informed training programmes for professionals and volunteers. Alongside this, I’ve delivered tailored training and development to senior teams in the NHS, police forces, and universities, helping cross-functional teams align and achieve shared goals.

I hold an AET Level 3 Award in Education & Training and am currently pursuing a Level 3 Diploma in Counselling. I also study and practise Ayurvedic techniques, which inform my approach to wellbeing, resilience, and supporting others to thrive.

I’ve managed international conferences across Cameroon, Tanzania, Senegal, Sri Lanka, and Italy. As a multi-linguist and natural communicator, I’m passionate about helping organisations and individuals strengthen their impact, clarify their strategy, and bring their vision to life.
